Our challenge

When a financial services giant is feeling the pressure, its business suffers. That's the time when you need to call in people with deep domain knowledge and experience of delivering effective change in large, complex and diverse organisations. BCS Consulting are those people.

With a highly decentralised finance function, outdated legacy applications and non standard operating models and processes, our client was finding that, during peak periods, the demands placed on key people within their Finance Function were not sustainable. The bank's Board recognised the need for a multi year, major transformation in order to maintain the integrity of the Group's financial management.

Our solution

After clearly defining our client's issues, BCS Consulting rapidly began implementing a major transformation including:

  • Designing and implementing a best-in-class Programme Office, covering all work stream activities. (c.200 headcount.)
  • Designing and rolling out a new operating model for the Global Finance function, harmonising reporting structures for senior management, defining a common set of key roles and creating a series of new roles to support the function.
  • Analysing all finance activity and costs on a global basis to enable internal benchmarking to take place.
  • Creating a new operating model, structure, processes and systems for a regional capital management function.
  • Providing domain skills to identify improvements across multiple process improvement projects.
